We’ve finally made it to the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.  This entry in the series is set to shake things up in some big ways, sending ripples through all things Call of Duty.  That includes the Warzone, the Call of Duty battle royale offshoot.  Get ready for a wave of new content, gameplay tweaks, and much more.

In one of the biggest changes for the series, operators will now be able to enjoy player and weapon progression through Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Warzone.  This means that no matter which game you’re playing, you can earn XP and level up in any of the experiences mentioned above.  Work your way through the ranks by playing multiplayer modes, completing Cold War/Modern Warfare Challenges, or taking on standard Warzone matches.  Now you won’t need to worry about dividing your time across different Call of Duty modes in order to keep leveling your operator.

As far as weapon progression goes, Warzone players can look forward to going hands-on with every weapon from Modern Warfare, as well as the new weapons that are set to appear in Black Ops Cold War.  This includes all Primary and Secondary weapons available at Black Ops Cold War’s launch, all the Season weapons, even every single Weapon Blueprint and camo variant.  On top of that, all weapons currently available in Warzone will remain, as Activision has no plans to vault anything in your arsenal.

The fun continues over on the Operator side of things as well.  Any Operator that you’ve unlocked in Modern Warfare or Black Ops Cold War will be able to drop into Warzone battles.  Just as with weapons, all purchased and earned Skins, Quips, and Finishing Moves for your Operators will transfer over as well.  As long as you have access to the Operator skins you want now, or you unlock them in Modern Warfare or Black Ops Cold War moving forward, you’ll be able to slip them on for action in Warzone.

For the Battle Pass members out there, things will continue on in Warzone as well.  The good news is that you can also progress through the Battle Pass by playing Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, or Modern Warfare.  Spend your time in Warzone and you’ll see your Battle Pass rank rise overall in the other Call of Duty experiences.  As the season rolls on, there will be even more content to unlock for Warzone, including elements in free tiers that all can enjoy.

Finally, Call of Duty players will have access to three different online stores.  While the stores themselves are separate, they do contain items that will transfer over to Warzone.  In the Black Ops Cold War Store, you’ll find a ton of content that will work in Warzone.  The store will also clearly label which items cross over just to make things easier.  The same thing goes for the Modern Warfare Store as well.  Finally, the Warzone store will have a mix of content from Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare, once again with clear labels.  If you’re a Warzone-only player, going with the Warzone Store will be the quickest way to see what goodies are up for grabs for your game of choice.

The future of Call of Duty: Warzone is bright indeed.  With integration between Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare, there will be more content than ever to enjoy.  There’s already a wealth of things to experience right from the get-go, but as the Battle Pass and Season content moves ahead, you’ll have even more at your disposal.  It’s clear that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s release will usher in a whole new era for Warzone fanatics.
